Looking back in time, 7 decades is no small feat. What was the world like 70 years ago? To put things in perspective, the 1950s was a period of the post-world war 2 boom, the dawn of the cold war and the civil rights movement in the United States. In the entertainment sector, Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe were the rising stars and the talk of the decade.
Bank of Baroda established itself and grew in the backdrop of these global shifts as well as the shift from the struggle for and to the gaining of independence in Kenya on 12th December 1963.
Marking 70 years in Kenya and the journey along the way has been nothing short of glorious. From the establishment of the first branch along Makadara Road in Mombasa on 14th December 1953, to the expansion of our operations to a total of 14 branches in the country and now to the conception of our first Sales and Service Centre, Baroda World at Nairobi we are proud of the community we have formed amongst ourselves as Barodians and the relationships forged with our customers.
